XDDDDD I got sick of seeing people just writing the JRocker's name for the title, ie let's suppose, if you searched "hiroto alice nine." you'd find about a page full of "hiroto"s. Not discriminating against anyone, in fact I admit to collecting most of those -- XP but they're just so damn repetitive. So I break the cycle :D

Oh yeah, this is Hiroto from the JRock band alice nine.
please love him ^^ his music, and the rest of his band XD

GUESS WHAT?! YES, this is going to be an insanely long comment, but what else?!
I did this picture with an actual artistic purpose!! ZOUNDS!!
It's my "thing" for keeping myself alive and ahead of the little challenges I set myself. This one breaches yet another parameter not breached before in terms of my development, I'm glad to say.
AND -- if you will check out the ref clickyclick -- [link] then you'll see he has a damn whole lot more makeup on in my version than in the original. This is because I wanted to portray distance... because unless if we actually KNOW him, we don't know him... and we never really see the Hiroto he is, we see the Hiroto he/they/whoever chooses to make us see. That's damn sad, and I wanted a way to express that with my pencil and paper ^^ I guess his music is our best and most enjoyable clue.

last but DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, critique it to hell ^^ I accept everything.
and don't forget to enjoy art; if you deem this good enough to be called that.

I like your drawing. It catched my attention at once on the frontpage. *click* Yes, you gave him more makeUp, but I like it, the way you did. And especially the reason, why you did so. It's not only true, but also a really good way to show that distance. Moerover, the expression you gave him is showing that good as well. He looks very stern (?) while in the ref more asking. But it really is a serious and kind of sad truth you want to show with this pic, I like that really good^^

Pretty well done, great idea and beside the picture I like your comment on it. Mostly I don't comment even great works, if comment is only "..." that always seems to me, like the artist doesn't have any connection to the own work. Different here and a special plus ^,~

thankyou so much for that comment.. it's nice to see I'm not the only one who does essays. :D

and again, it's great to hear I did something eye-catching... up till now I haven't been really impressed with anything of my own. I probably never will be, since my standards increase with my actual "skill"... but that's okay too. Since it means I can always improve.

I have to admit I'm horrible at naming my deviations...oh well XD
the eyes and lips definitely stand out in this one and you're definitely improving ;]
I think that his jacket and necklaces need more work but the face is really great

I'm not original at naming mine either, I use song names or lyrics xD (I love the title for this one by the way lol)

Eh? Am I blind?? I don't see more makeup xD But I do understand what you say about the distance. If I walked by some of my favorite j-rockers on the street I probably wouldn't even notice. In some ways it's a good thing and in some ways it's a bad thing..

I definitely see improvement here. The one thing I hate about drawing Hiroto is that one eye is always covered and in my drawings that one eye looks funny xD

to make that eye not look funny it's better to draw the face without the hair fully and THEN cover it up ^^ works like a Pon.

there is more makeup in the region of the eye closer to the nose and definitely in the lips, but besides, yeah, not much. it's just that in my pic I tried to make him look sharper, posier (if possible with any member of alice nine.)and yeah.. distance...
I definitely think not knowing the person who you listen to at least half an hour per day is bad... but :( I have no idea about how to fix the great big cycle of consumerism we're caught in. Until then, we can rage against the machine XD

I do believe I am improving as well. how nice ^^ and hell YES my clothes are.... *kaput* i just don't know what to do with all those fabrics and shiny metallic objects!! o.O especially with blurry ref pics T__T though I'd blame me more than the ref.

Hmm maybe I will try that next time hehe Thanks! (Or maybe I'll just load on more hair so there's no eye to deal with anymore haha)

Yeah, it's true that we don't really know who we are listening to, but when you think about it, that applies to like..all celebrities xD Musicians, actors..it seems like they are surrounded by people who tell them what to wear, what to say, and how to act all the time.

ah crap you ask for critique but i'm hardly the one that can do that [since you far surpass my skills when it comes to drawing people.] amazing job as per usual, i love the hair and the shading and the eye, etc. i suppose i could say that if you were going for realism [since in art you got very defensive when it was called 'manga'] then his right eye shouldn't be so visible through his hair.
but otherwise i love it!! and amazingly i think your drawing makes him look more like a guy than the actual photo does, despite you shading more makeup on him XD
